VPForce FFB joystick base not recognized + MP issue
Basically, looks like IL-2 will only detect first 8 usb devices. I have about twice as that number in the simpit. One solution is to unplug stuff. That ain't happening over here - if I have to unplug stuff I might just as well hire a minimum wage worker for that. Another option is to use devreorder u/charon-prime suggested or temporarily hide the unneeded devices with HidHide.

Disabling the TM T16000 when not using it
HidHide https://github.com/ViGEm/HidHide/releases can hide devices in software. Just run the configuration client to either select the device and hide it on demand or always hide it from anything but the games in which you want to use it

Input Lag With the ALP?
I've been playing with using XOutput + HidHide to cause Windows to see the the ALP controls as an Xbox controller instead of the generic device it normally appears as, and it seemed to significantly improve the input latency in FX. But there are other downsides and quirks that it causes, including problems actually launching the ball in some of the FX tables, so it might also end up being a non-starter.

I just finished Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice for the first time, and man, it was such a fantastic experience.
I use HIDHide, you can find it here: https://github.com/ViGEm/HidHide

VKB Omni idea: 6-degree strafing + throttle
I've also used Joystick Gremlin + vJoy + HidHide to do it. You just need JG running while you play. (Side point: I wrote a JG plugin to solve ghosting inputs on the X56, so I wrote some help documentation that explains how to install and configure those 3 programs, but you probably wouldn't need my plugin itself)

Logitech X56 Rhino -Mode Switch Problems
But, you do have to set up a couple things.. VJoy for passing the inputs to a virtual joystick, and Hid Hide for hiding your real joystick from your game(s).

Having issues with using your Gamecube Controller on Windows 11? Try installing a different fork of Vjoy.
The solution that worked for me is to run the installer as normal, let the Vjoy portion of the installation fail, and to install a fork of Vjoy that works with Windows 11 afterwards. This is the version I used, and it works fine, despite the description saying it is for W10 only. I assume this is because the version of Vjoy used in the old install is unsigned, vs this version being signed, but I'm not entirely sure. If your controller worked on W10, and you upgraded and now it does not, download and install the version I linked above. The Vjoy installer removes previous install files and replaces them with the new one, so it should come out clean at the end.

Is there a way to double bind throttle forward/backward on 2 devices
Basically, I did exactly what it said in the video... I used Joystick Gremlin to split my Z axis on my pedals, and then bound each "new axis" to Throttle forward... and throttle back (the 2 separate keys)... and it works.(NOTE: I had to install VJoy as well)

What are some alternatives?
HidGuardian - Windows kernel-mode driver for controlling access to various input devices.
PPJoy - I've added this from a GPLed archive I found. The original developer seems to have abandoned this project.
DualSenseX - Connect your DualSense Controller, use Adaptive Triggers, Emulate Xbox 360 or DualShock 4 through USB or Bluetooth on PC
KeyboardSplitterXbox - Creates up to 4 virtual xbox 360 controllers and feeds them via one or more keyboards.
ViGEmBus - Windows kernel-mode driver emulating well-known USB game controllers.
ghost-input-filter - Python script for Joystick Gremlin that maps joystick buttons to virtual joysticks, while filtering out ghost inputs
DS4Windows - DS4Windows - Tool to use PS4/PS5 Controller on Windows 10 PC. Open Source Input Mapper
DS4Windows - Like those other ds4tools, but sexier
JoystickGremlin - A tool for configuring and managing joystick devices.
ScpToolkit - Windows Driver and XInput Wrapper for Sony DualShock 3/4 Controllers
XOutput - DirectInput to XInput wrapper
HIDer - HIDer allows you to manage HidGuardian in order to hide chosen controllers from being seen by games/applications.
