All of this you might find for yourself just by using TryMode 2.0, which is basically TryMode with a lot of new features, such as spawning units and adding abilities to the heroes. You can also use StormmapGenerator to get those features work on any map.

Keep HOTS alive with custom game modes/maps like in WC3
I wondered if this was possible. Given that it’s an online game, I wasn’t sure what all was local to the game vs pulled from servers. But when I searched mods I didn’t find much. I did find this though https://jamiephan.github.io/HeroesOfTheStorm_TryMode2.0/ which had some nice info about how maps work. Maybe a start? If the community thought it was worth it.

We need the ability to play together on a modified map

I'm drunk, and also a UI/UX animator which is the only reason I caught this miniscule mistake in the Hero Selection UI.
But it is referemced in the animation here. This should use Item11 instead of Item9. It modifies the offset of its right anchor, so it overlaps with its right neighbor during the animation.
