Add support for Steelseries Nova 7
I guessing it needs to be put into a state todo this? The program https://github.com/Sapd/HeadsetControl can query the state of the Game/Chat mix dial. I pretty much just use this dial for Discord, so at minimum I want to have it so using the Game/Chat mix dial changes the volume of the Discord application. Ideal would be having a virtual sound that gets mixed back into the sound output.

Switching completely from Windows to Linux
For the arctis, you can likely use https://github.com/Sapd/HeadsetControl I'm using it with the nova 7 and it has 4 built in equalizers which do the job for me. You miss out on built in chatmix like sonar has but you can implement it pretty easily using pulseaudio virtual audio devices and interfacing with headset control to get the chat mix level from the headset. If you want to send me a dm once you get your system set up I can send you over a private repo I have for it!

Ask HN: What lesser-known accessories do you use with your computer?
Same here. My Logitech gaming headset works great in Linux. I do have to use some third party thing to adjust the goofy LED colors and side channel volume, though.

New PC Build, Recommend changing any hardware for Linux comparability
For the headset, this is a bit more difficult, if and only if, you are looking for a full compatibility, meaning all the functionality you would have in Windows. I would recommend looking at HeadSetControl repository if you need a full control of your headset under Linux, else all basic functionality should be available on most of the Headset market (please verify using google).

Microphone output while using headphones? I can't hear myself!
I also used it in Ubuntu with this little cli-tool headsetcontrol from here https://github.com/Sapd/HeadsetControl which works great with the G533. It also supports some other headsets, so it might be worth checking out.

Recommended wireless headset
Everything using Bluetooth should work, sometimes with a tiny bit of tweaking. If you want a bit more of functionality, look at https://github.com/Sapd/HeadsetControl you will find a list of supported devices.

Disable sidetone on corsair void pro usb.
I switched to linux a few weeks ago and talking with friends in discord is really annoying because of the sidetone. I've tried disabling it from alsamixer(there was no sidetone option) and HeadsetControl.

Looking for a wireless headset that works great on Linux
With my current headset, the problems I've had on Linux were the following: - Lack of battery notifications (mitigated with HeadsetControl) - Lack of surround settings - Can't use the programmable button

Mouse doesnt work through KVM
If it's got the Logitech unifying receiver, it won't work outta the box. You gotta download Solaar

[Recommendation] Not necessary, but cool software to tweak your devices (webcam, keyboard etc.)
- Solaar: Device manager for Logitech devices (connected via Unifying, Bolt, Lightspeed or Nano receivers + some connected via USB cable / Bluetooth)

Mouse gesture overview extension?
Depending on your mouse, Solaar could do the job. I use it in combination to trigger Fly-Pie.

Logitech M720 Triathlon - What do you think of it?
Now moving on to the Linux part. Do you use gnome/kde? Or some tiling DE? I use Solaar and it's lovely! M720 has a perfectly placed gestures button. I use it to move my windows to left/right monitors and switch between upper/lower desktop spaces. The gesture button works flawlessly when you set up solaar correctly.

Runit script for Solaar
I've been beating my head against the wall trying to figure out why this isn't working as I expect. I'm trying to make a user service to run solaar so that my logitech mouse's scroll wheel behaves like I want without having to open the app manually. The software itself provides a .desktop file for autostart, and I used this as a basis.

Fedora for gaming/VirtualBox?
I've used Solaar for my MX Master 3, works great. https://pwr-solaar.github.io/Solaar/

Silly problem but what are you guys doing for keyboard/mouse setup?
We don't officially support wireless keyboards or mice for infosec, environmental, and supportability reasons. But if we had to, the established Logitech Unifying and newer Logitech Bolt ecosystem allow for ready re-pairing of dongles with peripherals. Logitech Unifying is fully functional under Linux with solaar from your distro's repos. You have to be astute when buying, to always look for a picture of the dongle with the orange Unifying logo or the safety-yellow Bolt logo, however. If the logo isn't on the packaging or in the promo picture, I can assure you that you will not get a Unifying or Bolt dongle.
