The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

GPU4FS: A filesystem runs on GPU to accelerate data access
While it is not a 1:1 comparison there has been a driver for windows that allows the creation of a ram drive from vram for NVIDIA cards.

The Swedish 4090 prices dropped today, 2529 Euro for the Asus Strix. What a shitty time to be a gamer.
Yes it is possible. Here is a GitHub project that allows you to create a virtual disk using VRAM. And here is where someone installed Crysis 3 into VRAM on a 3090

Where should I go to get my computer inspected/looked at for faulty RAM?
Its probably the GPU VRAM. Unfortunately most of the 'tools' that I seem to be finding to test that are the equivalent of '10 easy steps for a faster PC, your never going to beleave #7... 1) give us money!'. But memory is memory, and to that end: https://github.com/prsyahmi/GpuRamDrive. Get that, something like MSI afterburner that can read VRAM usage. And your going to need some more cat videos... Set up the RAM drive, you probably want to leave about 2GB free for the cat videos to run, then load up the new drive with the cat videos (you can get one and just rename it a bunch of times) if you can get 4 or so running at once, that should fill up the last little bit of VRAM. Hopefully at some point something will crash or glitch. If it dose, reset everything and make sure that the cat video itself runs.

Initial benchmark results of a multi-gpu ramdisk drive.
I downloaded the gpuramdisk project from https://github.com/prsyahmi/GpuRamDrive and added my own gpu virtual array into its memory manager for a multi-gpu support on single ramdisk.

Does anyone know how to install a RAM partition on VRAM?
For anyone looking for the answer: Here is the link to it. https://github.com/prsyahmi/GpuRamDrive/releases It's actually a lot slower than a normal RAM disk, by over half the mb/s, which really suprised me. However, it might actually still load faster in games but I haven't tested that yet. That being said, it does actually increase your performance a bit, not by a whole lot, but it can be noticable regardless

why is UPS so low? How to bring it up?
You could use it as swap space via vramfs, but again, if you hit the swap, you already have lost.

Storing a filesystem on a graphics card, how bad an idea is this?
This reminds me of vramfs and swap on video RAM. The tweet also has some interesting insights specific to Linux, which may actually be more viable now that PCIe ReBAR is more widely supported, allowing the CPU to actually access all of the available VRAM instead of a limited window of about 256 MiB.

Download more RAM (literally)
Serious question, I've had similar thoughts but with swap on a GPU-backed filesystem

What are some alternatives?
When comparing GpuRamDrive and vramfs you can also consider the following projects:
gdrcopy - A fast GPU memory copy library based on NVIDIA GPUDirect RDMA technology
pingfs - Stores your data in ICMP ping packets
config-manager - A configuration manager to work out of the box
tmpfs-mysql - Speed up your tests using MySQL server with tmpfs datadir :runner::zap:
TabFS - 🗄 Mount your browser tabs as a filesystem.
