SN Pro – a free, open-source font designed for Markdown
Although we had never designed a font before, we had extensive experience using Figma to create our app's user interface, custom icons, and svgs over the past few years. Recognizing that creating a font from scratch would be a daunting task, we opted to adapt Nunito.
To re-design and create our own stamp on the typeface, we chose Glyphs [1], a beautifully crafted and meticulously planned program. Over the course of several months, we carefully reconsidered each character, adjusting cap heights, and refining kerning (the spacing between characters).

Adobe Gives Up on Web-Design Product to Rival Figma After Deal Collapse
I agree that 150usd might be too cheap for pro market but like i mentioned maybe they found out they need to first go for amateurs. Who knows maybe they will make it more expensive in future or offer some kind of pro option.
I also have to mention maybe your expectations are a bit skewed? Software dev got cheaper and not everything has to be breakneck hype venture capital squeeze. There is type design software Glyphs (https://glyphsapp.com/) used by basically every typedesigner now. It costs 300usd and it is very complex. But they seem to be doing OK. Its so niche compared to Affinity that there is maybe 5% of potential customers?

Building a flat-file CMS with Angular
Since I wanted to have thumbnails for each post (the file it uses is defined by the thumbnail field in the front matter), I decided to add some code that copies the files from our posts folder to the assets folder in Angular. This way, we can easily reference them in our Angular code. However, some of the image files I would download from Unsplash.com (fantastic public domain images btw) were huge and would take a few seconds to load in the browser. So, I delegated this task to gulp, where the files would first be piped to imagemin and then copied to the assets folder. This optimized the images for faster load times. My gulpfile.mjs looks like this:
