GP2040 VS flatbox

I've had a great experience with Arduino Pro Micro's running the DaemonBite firmware, and the RPi Pico GP2040 firmware should be similarly great. Both have extremely low latency. The Brook Universal board is another good one. Other than that, I usually just use either a DualShock 3 pad over USB or a wired 360 pad. I also like the iBuffalo SNES pad and Logitech Precision pads.

My third revision of this and looking for feedback to improve. I'm using an secondary USB-C port here to test this schematic before using it on other builds where the Pico placement is constrained by board clearances and mounting holes. The Pico is running GP2040, https://github.com/FeralAI/GP2040, which allows the device to work on multiple systems. I'm new to PCB design and have grabbed some examples posted here before and hopefully following guidelines in the wiki.

It might also be worth checking out the pi pico as the brains, though I believe you need a second piece of hardware to make it work on ps4. The pi pico itself should only be 10$~ not sure how much the ps4 adapter thing would cost. The firmware to look into is https://github.com/FeralAI/GP2040

Hi, does anyone know how to add a PS Home button to your controller? I have a DURAL hitbox which uses GP2040 Firmware (https://github.com/FeralAI/GP2040). I was planning on going to an offline event and needed to make my controller PS4 proof for which I was hoping to use a PS3 to PS4 adapter. However I would still need the PS Home button because PS4 is weird. If anyone knows a solution help would be greatly appreciated.

Microsoft totally does. That's why GP2040, an open source controller firmware, doesn't support Xbox or PS. The way it's typically done now is to have a require a real controller to handle the authentication, with the 3rd party input in between the real controller and the console (passthrough in that chart)

Agreed that keyboards are a good early project. To add to that, if you play video games, leverless arcade controllers can be a fun build also. Pretty similar overall as far as parts and shape, but the firmware they run (stuff like GP2040-CE or HayBox) make them act as controllers instead of keyboards, and they can even work on game consoles. Specifically I'd recommend the Flatbox rev 5[0] and the Open-Frame1[1].

Tried to print this case bottom https://github.com/jfedor2/flatbox/blob/master/hardware-rev5/3d-printed-case/Flatbox-rev5-Bottom-hotswap.stl on my a1 mini. It doesn’t fit horizontal or vertical so I rotated it diagonally and it was doing fine until just over 50%. It did ask me to change camera to smooth and wanted to add a tower that wouldn’t fit. But I went with the warning on traditional. Any ideas how to make this work or why it went bad.

I am in the middle of building this https://github.com/jfedor2/flatbox/tree/master/hardware-rev4 and had the following epiphany "wait a minute, is this even compatible with the Xbox Series X?"

If you have access to 3d printer and can do basic soldering you can make one yourself, so it'd be even cheaper, since it's based on jFedor's flatbox, which itself is a variation of many of his prototypes you can find on thingverse.

Looking into building a Flatbox, specifically Rev5 for John Oliver and it requires a 2 part case (Top and Bottom), and 12 buttons 3d Printed (11xSmall, 1xBig)

Does it exist someone who sells flatbox-like case/pcb where can I plug my own Brook UFB (I already have one)? https://github.com/jfedor2/flatbox, this Flatbox has a Brook Ps3/Ps4 version, but that board is squared, I don't think a UFB can fit. There are plenty of versions of this on Aliexpress. I don't know how to modify / make my own starting from that repository, no one else already did something compatible with UFB?

I think Junkfood Arcade is the only one to have the Brook Fusion integrated. The next best thing (that I know of) is the flatbox, which is open sourced so you can get one made yourself - https://github.com/jfedor2/flatbox

First of all, I was on my way trying to make a flatbox following jfedor2's guide (https://github.com/jfedor2/flatbox/tree/master/hardware-rev5), as I was searching around, I stumbled on a post of someone trying to get/make a fightstick for their cousin who has only one hand. This got me curious and with a little bit of research, it seems to me that there isn't any well-known solution for single-handed controllers.
