Field Centric Drive Help
I think I just stumbled upon where the team got the IMU initialization from. Take a look at the sample code in https://github.com/FIRST-Tech-Challenge/FtcRobotController/blob/master/FtcRobotController/src/main/java/org/firstinspires/ftc/robotcontroller/external/samples/SensorBNO055IMU.java

Faster Way to Scan with the Rev 2M Distance Sensor?
You can read my testing notes here https://github.com/FIRST-Tech-Challenge/FtcRobotController/issues/317 but there is a way to make it slightly faster

Hello i've recently had a question about improving my TeleOP (i'm on the mechanic departament and also a driver in my team) i've noticed that during TeleOp if the other driver presses something on their controller it messes up my movement. Can anyone give me some aditional help???

Writing an I2C Driver for MaxBotix Ultrasonic
https://github.com/FIRST-Tech-Challenge/FtcRobotController/wiki/Writing-an-I2C-Driver This is the core tutorial on i2c devices, although its a little out of date so YMMV. Some things like the constructor may need to be tweaked (I believe there is now a second parameter in the super?). However the core of it is still accurate.

How can I learn about odometry?
I'd recommend reading the section on deadwheels from the excellent gm0.org. Honestly, I'd recommend reading all of gm0.org

Game Manual 0 Suggestions
That’s definitely a good point—we’ve noticed Studica gaining in popularity, and with Actobotics discontinued the entire Kit and Hardware guide seems in need of a revamp; we already have an open issue in regards to this (https://github.com/gamemanual0/gm0/issues/361), but its good to see others agree.

courses: none, you can ask the community for help for free. There are many guides out there, including gm0.org, the FTC Discord, and many alumni and mentors ready to help you

First Tech Challenge for High School Robotics
Lego is generally only used in FLL - it's possible to make a few smaller mechanisms out of lego (some of the first successful odometry pods used lego gearing), but it's far too weak for FTC-scale robots, and FTC requires a Rev control system (also, for what it's worth, the current generation of the Lego control system... isn't amazing). 3D printed parts and GoBilda system parts are generally the preferred build system for most FTC teams (GoBilda is metric and also generally really sturdy and easy to build reliable mechanisms out of compared to other systems). I'd recommend looking at gm0.org, gobilda.com, coreftc.org, and I'll also add in our team's half-complete recommended equipment spreadsheet (I think this is allowed sorry if not): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MALPK73WvE8-W6KutMaCev5dBro0AjW4E699cwYLBf0/edit?usp=sharing

FIRST not Attributing Community Resources in Official Media FIRST not Attributing Community Resources in Official Media FIRST not Attributing Community Resources in Official Media
In mid-December, FIRST uploaded a series of programming videos on the FIRST Tech Challenge YouTube channel. In two of these videos, there are sentences that are word for word copied from Game Manual 0, a FTC community resource (that I manage).

Controllers 1 & 2 with Java Programming issues
Overall the code is just the result of a new coder, which is perfectly fine, as they are learning along the way, and the fact that it all "works" is better than a lot of teams. I would however take a look at for example gm0.org as they have a lot of resources for new teams.

What do you use for reference when programming for FTC?
You can check the gm0 software issues and there is a lot of software documentation that is planned (check the software tags). https://github.com/gamemanual0/gm0/issues

Mentor-Building Antagonism and the Ephemerality of FTC Knowledge
At https://github.com/coppersource/gm0/issues you can open an issue in gm0 about adding a mentor guide, and provide more detail because I really don't know what a "mentor guide" would be.
