CDDA-Game-Launcher VS Cataclysm-DDA

Dats old af now, use this https://github.com/Fris0uman/CDDA-Game-Launcher/releases its the basically the same launcher but getting updates

I use Fris0uman's launcher to play https://github.com/Fris0uman/CDDA-Game-Launcher/releases and for now I'm still using Windows 7, but for every other application I'm running its working good, its just whenever I try to play CDDA now it takes 5 seconds to move a single space. I have an i9-9900k and 48GB RAM, what is going on?

The experimental version of the game updates about every day, but you don't have to update as often, you could only udpate after your current run dies, or never update. Third party launchers like this one https://github.com/Fris0uman/CDDA-Game-Launcher/releases make updating a bit easier, you just click update and it will download the latest experimental and set it up for you. Otherwise yes if you donwload manually delete everything except save and config folder and drop the new version on the same spot, or unpack the new version nad move config and save folder over and then delete the old one.

Both currently maintained launchers do this automatically. Fris0uman's fork of the CDDA Game Launcher has the better rollback capability (i.e. going back to an older version if something breaks), but unlike Catapult the save backup doesn't work, at least for me.

Can i recommend a launcher. Using a launcher solves all of your problems including being hard to update the game. This one is my personal favorite https://github.com/Fris0uman/CDDA-Game-Launcher/releases.

instead you go to https://github.com/Fris0uman/CDDA-Game-Launcher/releases and download launcher.exe - it is continued version of abandoned remyroy launcher

And that sucks! I really wish being Huge (or Tiny, but I haven't tried that personally) felt more distinct than it does. You really shouldn't be able to operate holdout pistols, but you should be able to stuff a thanksgiving turkey in your coat pocket.

If you look in the jmath.json file (https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA/blob/master/data/mods/MindOverMatter/jmath.json) under the matrix awakening odds and portal storm awakening odds, change the Return to "return": "0 * _0". That should set the odds of awakening to 100% regardless of how many paths you have.

Are you sure? I checked the initial PR and couldn't find any mention of an anvil, and I checked the current files, and also couldn't find any mention of an anvil.

There is not, but it was mentioned as a desired feature in the original PR introducing Electrokinesis so it will hopefully be added eventually.

Must be the newest experimental. Static hordes were added back to worldgen, the hordes option now only toggles dynamic hordes.

That said, I recommend Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, which offers something like this.

Each power has a different set of thresholds leading into different powers. You can check the JSON files for each class on github to see which powers lead into eachother at what level.

Yeah, I ran into a similar issue working on craftable bone spike spears. https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA/pull/57447 There is some decent research on the topic but it’s not open access which didn’t leave me with evidence to support my argument besides basically metadata. For the record I think this is reasonable, it’s just frustratingly difficult to find accessible modern research on these interesting topics
