The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

What libaom options are relevant to avif encoding with libavif?
Has anyone figured out which options have a significant, potentially benefical impact on encoding quality? I'm seeing loss of detail and I cannot get s specific test image to encode properly (the stripes on the baloon are (nearly) lost).

Benchmark: 10bit avif encoding preferable to 8bit even for 8bit sources
I've noticed bad performance on a particular test image (the bright red stripes on the red balloon), but it doesn't really get better with 10bit either.
- Benchmark: libaom 3.0.0 update cuts up to 60% avif encoding time

What libaom options are relevant to avif encoding with libavif?
If you want to try something using rav1e, you could try cavif-rs. rav1e by default does quite well with still images, which is nice: https://github.com/kornelski/cavif-rs
