Stupid noob question, but what do you all use to stream video on your SteamDeck?
Look for the app ElectronPlayer here. It’s a little old but has been working flawlessly for me in game mode.

Would anyone mind telling me the best way to watch Netflix and YouTube and Disney + etc on my deck? I heard that it struggles?
I use ElectronPlayer. Works great in game mode and even has full screen hot keys. Not only does it come with Netflix and YouTube. It comes with paramount+, Hulu, and Disney+.

Even the Atari VCS (also based on Linux) has media apps and SteamOS doesn't. I hope that with the Steam Deck there, they put media apps like Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and etc.
No, probably is not :D Even Switch Shop is just a wrapped website, not a native app. That is why it is so horrible. But if you want a more "native" feel, you can always install an electron wrapper like https://github.com/oscartbeaumont/ElectronPlayer

Why is it so hard to get a Netflix client for Linux?
Not sure if this helps but you can check out ElectronPlayer which is a client for Netflix and other services. It also has an adblocker built in. I have been using it for a year or so and have no complaints.

I've struggled with watching Netflix in 4K on almost any device that i own except for one.., but i have found this solution. You can watch Netflix in 4K on any monitor and any resolution if you use these 2 scripts: This one for the resolution: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/444125-netflix-uhd And this one for max bitrate: https://github.com/lkmvip/netflix-4K-DDplus They must be run in Microsoft Edge.

Netflix 4k HDR movies look like ass because of the low bitrate.
you can also use this extension in chrome to force playback of avcmain/avchigh and to force 1080p resolution https://github.com/lkmvip/netflix-4K-DDplus the main branch has the most features, but the latest release also works well
