FWIW: Rooting seems fairly easy at this point in time, at least for pixel devices.

Flash with magisk, install Universal Safetynet Fix (https://github.com/Displax/safetynet-fix/) and you're passing safetynet / play integrity API.

I haven't come across a single app that doesn't work due to root currently, but I limit my installed apps.

Have you tried this mod of SafetyNet? It's work for me (but on One+, not Samsung)

Just finished a remote session helping someone root and the only reason it took so long was because we had trouble at this step, and I forgot to mention that I use canary version of magisk, I specifically had this guy install https://github.com/topjohnwu/magisk-files/tree/canary -> app-release.apk and then he still had problems and I said did you force close google play? He said "Now it's certified!"

I'm not on Android 13. I just saw that https://github.com/topjohnwu/magisk-files/commit/56da1fe5430b2c04701ce73d1658ba698ee92283 said that that's the first release to support it.
