FWIW: Rooting seems fairly easy at this point in time, at least for pixel devices.

Flash with magisk, install Universal Safetynet Fix (https://github.com/Displax/safetynet-fix/) and you're passing safetynet / play integrity API.

I haven't come across a single app that doesn't work due to root currently, but I limit my installed apps.

Have you tried this mod of SafetyNet? It's work for me (but on One+, not Samsung)

Install Zygisk - LSPosed Magisk module. Get latest MinMicroG release here (choose edition yourself). Flash it in TWRP and reboot into system;

Did you install from the releases repo or the CI repo? Because I had bootloop on the latest releases release (lol) too, but using the latest from the CI worked better. Apparently, the releases is lacking behind, see https://github.com/FriendlyNeighborhoodShane/MinMicroG/issues/36#issuecomment-1188563391
