I ended up not getting an internship, and I think it's totally fine if you don't have anything your sophomore summer. Junior summer matters a bit more, so I would just take this as a learning experience and try to start early next year (like August) with resources like this: https://github.com/Pitt-CSC/Summer2021-Internships/!

    - Once you have some experience under your belt, you can try to look for an internship abroad - there's a lot of companies that hire internationals. Look at lists like https://github.com/Pitt-CSC/Summer2021-Internships, http://interns.supply/ to find companies.
