Confused by Start (and End) G-Code Macros

Creality Print vs Cura: Speed
So I'm using beta version of Cura (5.5.0) with V3 SE profile from https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/pull/16796 and I just figured out that Creality print is way faster than Cura. As far as I can see, settings are almost identical; print speed is set to 180mm/s in both programs. I'm using stock PLA profile in Creality print and eSun pla+ profile in Cura - same temperature, infill, walls and fan settings.

New Feature for Cura?
In this case, Cura is an open source project, so the most straightforward way of submitting a feature request would be by creating an Issue in the code repository, where you can explain your idea along with why itβs important to you, who else you think it could be valuable to, and what you want both minimally and ideally.

Updated to Cura 5.4 and it wiped everything, now I cannot select Ender 3 S1 Pro. Any suggestions?
If you're using the Startup Optimizer plugin, try disabling it temporarily - it can occasionally interfere with the list of available printers. Should that not help you could manually re-insert the profile by copying this JSON into the appropriate directory (eg C:\Program Files\UltiMaker Cura 5.4.0\share\cura\resource\definitions).

How hard is this to accomplish
These are the Ellis print settings. These print settings are the result of ~2 years worth of meticulous work.

Poor layer adhesion with eSun ABS+
If you want real nice colors, Paramount 3D is the way to go. As far as settings go, I use slightly modified Ellis profiles. For ASA, I use my ABS profile but increase temps to 260.

How to get a nice first layer
Here's Ellis's guide which a lot of people follow:https://github.com/AndrewEllis93/Ellis-SuperSlicer-Profiles

But, it's Blasphamy to to tell someone to use SuperSlicer without also linking Ellis' PIF Tuning Guide, that also links to his SuperSlicer PIF Profiles.

SuperSlicer default print profile
There are a lot of things you can change, but I think one of the most important things is your start GCode. If Cura is re-homing the Z for instance and SS isn't, that could explain why your prints aren't sticking. Another thing you can do is to export a sliced gcode file from both and examine what happens before the printing starts to determine the delta. I personally use Ellis' PiF profiles with a couple modifications to the machine/extruder limits to fit my machine and my start/end gcode macros.

The Ellis-PIF-Profile is a pretty common starting point that a lot of us use but you'll still need to adjust a few things to work with your particular printer.
