Woodpecker cnc/3018 with external stepper drivers/power supply?
I have (but haven't started assembling) the Teensy 4.1 breakout board here https://www.tindie.com/products/philba/grblhal-bob-unkit-for-teensy-41-t41u5xbb/ which seems like the 'Cadillac' option for grblHal, and should be fully capable of driving a large high-performance machine. grblHal should install on some more off-the-shelf hardware but I'm not sure which would make step/dir directly available - check here for compatibility https://github.com/grblHAL/Controllers

UGS opening file issue
This is probably caused by a cache bug (https://github.com/winder/Universal-G-Code-Sender/issues/2332). You can try and delete C:\Users\\AppData\Local\ugsplatform\Cache\

Can I connect my laptop to my desktop CNC with a bluetooth usb dongle?
Get a raspberry pi, https://www.raspberrypi.org/, throw UGS https://winder.github.io/ugs_website/ or cnc.js https://cnc.js.org/ on it.

Problems with UGS and grbl 1.1. It is constantly spamming this, I can't do anything without it starting again. Have restarted and reset everything, I'm at a loss. Appreciate any help

What software are you using with your Inventables Carvey?
I was looking at other options and since I've used UGS on another machine I researched it a bit and found mentions of Carvey using a custom grbl implementation called gcarvin and while it's mentioned that support was added to UGS through the controller list, it doesn't show up and I haven't been able to find any more info.
