Tilted wrist rest recommendations
I am using https://github.com/Bastardkb/Charybdis/tree/main/files/mods/tenting-stand-with-wrist-pads With the Gelpads from Ali. And are quite happy with them. Interestingly do they change after a while and don’t snap to each others, but that’s not a problem.

Which DIY split keyboard to build?
I started my split journey by building a dactyl manuform with amoeba king pcbs. Now I use a charybdis nano because it has an integrated trackball :D

Ask HN: What lesser-known accessories do you use with your computer?
I use a Bastard Keyboard Charybdis Nano. It's an ergo 3x5 keyboard with built in trackball. I built it myself but you can get them pre built too.

Welcome to r/SystemInformer
Most of my free time is spent researching and engineering for various open source projects. I also enjoy building custom keyboards, right now I'm rocking a Bastard Keyboards Charybdis that I hand built myself. Fun facts: I'm left handed and used to train and ride horses competitively.

Charybdis: An ergonomic keyboard with integrated trackball.
Stumbled upon this keyboard while searching for Dactyl Manuform pcbs. Thought I'd share it here as well.. Also its open source : https://github.com/Bastardkb/charybdis Bastardkb website : https://bastardkb.com/charybdis/

Latest build
The design is not mine to share, but it is fully open source -- one of the reasons I really respect bastardkb and wanted to build this board. You can find the files (and license) on the bastardkb github.

Trackpoint integration
I know that a lot of keyboard builders that integrate trackpoints are using stem extensions, using things like a glued labret cheek piercing as described in https://github.com/alonswartz/trackpoint and other places), and I have some questions.

Any Corne-like keyboard with integrated trackball/trackpoint/joystick that is good enough to replace mouse?
I'd encourage you to think about just taking your favorite keyboard and adding a track point to it DIY. I just took a trackpoint out of at $16 thinkpad replacement keyboard (RIP rest of the keyboard), and stuck it into the thumb cluster of a 4x5 dactyl manuform. This was by far the most complicated mod I had done on a keyboard, but there are lots of instructions available online. I followed the instructions posted by alonswartz and used a variation of the u/manna_harbour code.

Smooth & Curvy meet the wDactyl - 3D source files available
You've probably seen and know about this, but if the Trackpoint is integrated into the logic board, it means you can make movement of the cursor activate a function layer, on which any key (probably the left thumb cluster) could function as a mouse clicks.

Need help identifying correct pinouts for trackpoint. I tried using pinouts from a similar trackpoint but it didn't work.
I just followed this guide: https://github.com/alonswartz/trackpoint

Kyria with bottom mounted TrackPoint
I would never thought of using a piercing by myself. I took the idea from another build: alonswartz/trackpoint: How to integrate a trackpoint in a mechanical keyboard (github.com)
