Charybdis VS dactyl-keyboard

I am using https://github.com/Bastardkb/Charybdis/tree/main/files/mods/tenting-stand-with-wrist-pads With the Gelpads from Ali. And are quite happy with them. Interestingly do they change after a while and don’t snap to each others, but that’s not a problem.

I started my split journey by building a dactyl manuform with amoeba king pcbs. Now I use a charybdis nano because it has an integrated trackball :D

I use a Bastard Keyboard Charybdis Nano. It's an ergo 3x5 keyboard with built in trackball. I built it myself but you can get them pre built too.

Most of my free time is spent researching and engineering for various open source projects. I also enjoy building custom keyboards, right now I'm rocking a Bastard Keyboards Charybdis that I hand built myself. Fun facts: I'm left handed and used to train and ride horses competitively.

The design is not mine to share, but it is fully open source -- one of the reasons I really respect bastardkb and wanted to build this board. You can find the files (and license) on the bastardkb github.

So, I'm in process of building my first ergo keyboard. Just finished left half, can't figure out how to upload(and where to get) software for it. I landed on dactyl by joshreve generated 3d files tinkered with them and finally printed them, soldered and glued everything, now i'm kinda stuck.

this one but i modified it to a 5x7 and i intend to use these arduino pro micro since they are what are in my current one and it hasen't failed or died yet and these oleds

For generating the print files I can recommend this python generator by joshreve or this online generator. Both are really good for standard manuforms. The python generator has some extra settings though.

Now that I've gotten fairly comfortable with a 40% layout, I'm planning on building a custom parametric dactyl manuform as my desktop keyboard while still using the kyria when traveling or just on the go.
