why is there even a minimum space?
If you have enough room to make your chaperone just large enough (even if you don't have enough space to play there) you might be able to get away with setting it up that way, then using something like chaperonetweak to manually resize it to something smaller. I use it to make a chaperone that more accurately reflects the shape of the space I have.

My index just shipped, what software/games should I preload before it gets here?
I would also highly recommend grabbing Chaperone Tweak. I use this whenever I want to make adjustments to my play space. You have way more control over the shape than you would with the default setup. It's also very useful in that you can use your passthrough camera and see your environment as you move your bounds with your hands. Super intuitive and very very useful.

Just copped a headset, having problems with room setup
If you want to modify more in depth your chaperone, you can use ChaperoneTweak

Anyone know how to make their playspace bigger?
If you haven't already installed the Open VR Advanced settings you should as it gives you all sorts of stuff including ways to modify your playspace. That said for a quick change of your space I generally use chaperone tweak. Generally don't recommend turning off your boundaries as you're just asking to break something.

MixedVR Manager first-time setup issues (and just general SteamVR headaches)
Created new layout. Tried to tweak it in ChaperoneTweak but that app never showed a single wall; I am guessing it was not reading the chaperone_info.vrchap correctly.

The best part of full body tracking is the punts
I found that the steam chaperone is easier to stay in for me. You have to enable staged tracking in virtual desktop for it to work right, but if you don’t want to bother with all that you can just enable the center floor marker in ovr advanced settings and keep your guardian. I disable guardian completely though and use steam chaperone. Ovr advanced settings can save your chaperone profile and you can use Chaperone Tweak to adjust it perfectly

Playspace permanently shifts. It is rotated and offset perminently with nothing within ovr will fix this. When i redo the room setup it works (once i hit B it changes my rotation tho) then after that session its back to this. How do i fix?
Next for the actual playspace adjustment I use a took called Chaperone Tweak which lets me change where my floor is located, rotated, ect. I can also adjust the walls add walls remove walls whatever you want to do.

[G2 Reverb] New SteamVR Update broke recentering?
Thank you for this! I am familiar with Steam Depot and rolling back updates, but when I looked into it for SteamVR, it seemed like it required several Depots and I wasn't willing to go that ham into it just yet (before asking for help). Luckily my problem was fixed by simply removing OVRAS, but maybe your solution will help someone else, so I very much appreciate the effort you put into your answer as well!

[Mod release] Bullet Time V.A.T.S VR
VAFS Redux works well in VR in my experience and you don't need to use quick slots for activation since you can send keyboard hotkeys in VR using OpenVR2Key or OpenVR-AdvancedSettings.

the PERCNOPS VIRTUAL RIG has been released, get it now on Steam : (VR tool to emulate virtual interfaces such as gamepads and steering wheels for PC games)
For Steam you could probably use an Overlay app. Examples of this include https://github.com/dantman/elite-vr-cockpit, https://github.com/OpenVR-Advanced-Settings/OpenVR-AdvancedSettings and https://github.com/pottedmeat7/OpenVR-WalkInPlace (or Natural Locomotion)

MixedVR Manager first-time setup issues (and just general SteamVR headaches)
I'm curious what you mean by MixedVR Manager is broken. After reading a lot of github it is sounding like the SteamVR room setup loop may be a bug / problem with OVR Advanced Settings...

Locomotion solution for Linux
I don't think OpenVR Advanced Settings does exactly what you're asking but you might be able to tweak it a bit to get what you want.
