Can't get addresses to load in mempool
blockstream/electrs. If you have stronger hardware, consider running Blockstream's electrs implementation. It's the backend mempool.space uses, and is also what powers blockstream.info.

How to connect to Electrum Server
I am excited after latest update about ability to connect Trezor to Electrum Server. I've installed https://github.com/blockstream/electrs connected it to my Bitcoin Core using advice form https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/91746/configure-esplora-to-point-to-the-bitcoind-servers-ip-address and then run https://github.com/blockstream/esplora on top of it, just for fun (well to have a block explorer).

What are best tools for ground up bitcoin/lightning node?
I like RTL, services like loopd for channel rebalancing or if you're so inclined, the whole lightning terminal package. I love jochen's mempool explorer (source code) when estimating fees. I use blockstream's block explorer esplora (source) for my block explorer. There's so many fun tools out there I can't even come close to naming them all.
