New face in town. Is this a woodpecker?
Are the apps themselves open source? I found some code for BirdNet but it doesn't seem to be the android app part: https://github.com/kahst/BirdNET

BirdNet – The Easiest Way to Identify Birds by Sound
There is a link to the source code: https://github.com/kahst/BirdNET
I doubt that it will work on a Raspberry, but you can run it elsewhere and just send the audio to it.

Looking for Guidance on how to utilize another person's model?
So are you thinking that you want to reconstruct something like BirdNET but with a different neural network infrastructure such as the winner of the Kaggle competition? Have you been able to get the BirdNET repo up and running on your machine? https://github.com/kahst/BirdNET

React Porfolio Project Question
I'm about 2 years into my web dev journey with no career started yet. I've been working on a react project to "socialize bird watching" for about 70 days that utilizes googlemaps api, birdNET audio processor, and chatGPT prompt responses to return a write up on whatever bird you post about. Its looking okay but I would love some tips on how to put in on my resume.

AI tool helps ecologists monitor rare birds through their songs
Indeed! The model is publicly available here and can be fine-tuned on birds for your specific location: https://github.com/kahst/BirdNET-Analyzer

Can You Understand Bird? Test Your Recognition of Calls and Songs
Anybody use the BirdNet Analyzer? https://github.com/kahst/BirdNET-Analyzer
I've tried setting it up with the birdnetlib package but had trouble getting it running with a model and pack that was for my region. The default model for birdnetlib is in Europe.

Implementing BirdNET-Analyzer on a Raspberry Pi
I'm planning on implementing the BirdNET-Analyzer on a Raspberry Pi. I want to record bird song in my backyard in 5 minute clips and then analyze what birds were singing after dark. I can track which birds and when they are around, and perhaps even publish the data somehow.
What are some alternatives?
BirdNET-Lite - TFLite version of BirdNET. Bird sound recognition for more than 6,000 species worldwide.
BirdNET-Pi - A realtime acoustic bird classification system for the Raspberry Pi 4B, 3B+, and 0W2 built on the TFLite version of BirdNET.
data-science-ipython-notebooks - Data science Python notebooks: Deep learning (TensorFlow, Theano, Caffe, Keras), scikit-learn, Kaggle, big data (Spark, Hadoop MapReduce, HDFS), matplotlib, pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Python essentials, AWS, and various command lines.
Tensorflow-Lyrics-Generator - Simple Tensorflow Lyrics Generator (trained from 7 Metallica songs) using LSTMs
kaggle-birdsong-recognition - 1st Place solution to the Cornell Birdcall Identification competition.
earth-hz - User-friendly web framework for sharing and collaborative labeling of bioacoustic data
inaturalist - The Rails app behind iNaturalist.org
PyNBoids - This is a Boids Simulation, written in Python with Pygame.
punctuator2 - A bidirectional recurrent neural network model with attention mechanism for restoring missing punctuation in unsegmented text
