Is there a plugin to download album art
Biography script (for Spider Monkey Panel) can also auto- download missing album art from Last FM, usually at around 600x600 in decent quality. It also gets artist photos and texts (all optional)

Spider Monkey scripts you like?
The "big three" scripts by WilB are invaluable to me - Library Tree is closely approaching the best library viewer foobar has seen, it already mimics a lot of Facets, and the next version will apparently bring it even more in line with that. Biography auto-downloads and displays artist photos and missing cover art, and lets you read those in-depth artist wikipedia articles directly in foobar. And then Find & Play lets you listen to albums you do not even have yet - wondering what else the currently selected artist has done? In one click you can see everything they've released and load an album into a playlist, ready to stream from YouTube. (I mean, come on!)

Library Filters - display genre only if filepath match expression
Yes, these scripts are fantastic and can be used in any layout to get a nice look. Also check out Biography script by the same guy (WilB)

One of my mini themes - "foo_sidebar" - a foo_flowin flyout
The theme is basic DUI tabs, toolbars, Playlist View / Manager, Musical Spectrum, Waveform Seekbar, horizontal scrolling lyrics by ESLyric, Text Display for track info, SMP scripts for top menu / close button and lower status bar, and the ever present Biography and Library Tree scripts by WilB.

Questions from someone considering migrating from Spotify to foobar2000.
It really is a pretty outstanding bit of javascript that a lot of people have probably overlooked. (One of three big scripts by WilB, along with Biography and Library Tree)

Component to get metadata from Wikipedia ?
The latest Biography script (for Spider Monkey Panel) retrieves and displays Artist / Album articles from Wikipedia, along with AllMusic and Last .fm. It has limited tagging options primarily for GENRE, STYLE and MOOD from those sites.

Trouble with Spider Monkey Panel
Curious why are you using such old versions? SMP 1.3.0 was over three years ago. And Library Tree is 2.4.0 currently with tons of improvements since the first versions.

Total noobie to foobar2000 theme installation.
Download the file called foo_spider_monkey_panel.fb2k-component and drag+drop the file to foobar Preferences > Components page.

how does one go about customizing foobar?
you can do everything you're looking to do with varying amounts of complexity or difficulty. to start, open the menu and find "Layout Editing Mode," it should be under "View," and start swapping out panels--this is where you can change visualizations and add more UI elements like buttons; I think you already know how to do this but I'm just making sure. don't look into Columns UI until you're comfortable customizing the default layout. to change colors, press CTRL P and expand "Display" and "Default User Interface," under there--you should see "Colors and Fonts." to add custom backgrounds, you're going to need to use JS, which can be done through components like the Spider Monkey Panel, but I wouldn't mess with this until you're comfortable with everything else.

Decided to share this skin I've been working on for a while
Sorry about that, didn't realize spider monkey didn't have a download there. Here you go.

Need help with buttons
You could however install Spider Monkey Panel (v1.5.2 is currently recommended) and use the included sample scripts for playback buttons, or use one of the already made themes.

Layout centered around the order of a particular playlist?
No, you have to use other method. They're 3 ways to do that : 1 - go to Library - Facets (somewhere in the left you have the option to choose Library or Playlist) . Disadvantage : since you're using CUI (and that's a good choice) you can't add Facets to your layout, it's only a pop up panel 2 - you can use this component https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php?topic=120109.0 to add Facets (or other DUI elements) in a floating panel (you can have the panel in the right side, or left side, or above, play with the settings it's cool) 3 - install this component ( Spider Monkey Panel) : https://github.com/TheQwertiest/foo_spider_monkey_panel/releases/tag/v1.5.1. Add a Spider monkey panel panel to your layout, then install this script https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=110938.0;attach=19911 More details here : https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php?topic=110938.msg997853#new and here https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php?topic=111060.300
