BeatSaber_UpdateSkipper VS bs-manager

If you are a Steam version user you can try Update skipper. Steam will think that you use the latest available version while you don't. So no need to wait for a new version of mods

Use update skipper and stay on older versions. If you already updated you can use legacy launcher to install older versions. You can also manually install old mods into your mod folder, but this wont always work.

Its not much of a problem anymore. you turn off auto updates and then if you catch it before it updates you do this https://github.com/kinsi55/BeatSaber_UpdateSkipper. If you don't you have to uninstall and then grab and old version like this https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1805934840. backup playlists/songs, put right back. reinstall mods, which it remembers which ones you used. it takes like all of 5 or 10 minutes now to get back on an old version and have all mods working.

In the future, use https://github.com/kinsi55/BeatSaber_UpdateSkipper to prevent updating until mods are updated.

At least for Steam it's not really that much work anymore. When you see an update close Steam, run this, then start Steam back up and you're good to go.

Didn't know about BS Manager before now. Looks like a great tool!

This is a Beat Saber problem, they upgraded Unity in 1.30 and f*cked up controller positions. Use BSManager to download 1.29.1 or 1.28 (this version is most stable in my experience). Also it will help you with the unwanted updates breaking mods problem.

Perfect. Download BS Manager, then you can download a version of the game from before that pack was updated, without losing access to the updated game

This is why even though I'm using a Quest 2, I don't bother with the Quest-native Beat Saber and instead play the Windows/Steam version through PC link.

On Windows there's several utilities to keep your Beat Saber version and mods frozen. The utility I use, BSManager[0], also symlinks your beatmaps folder so it's shared between versions, making it easy to switch between arbitrary versions at will.

With that setup I play one setup for extended periods and only upgrade when custom maps start using frills from newer versions. I'm currently playing on 1.27.0 even though the current version of Beat Saber is up to 1.30.0.

You can either wait until mods are updated, it usually doesent take too long. Or you can get bs-manager and install an older version with working mods

Get bs-manager, it lets you install multiple versions of beatsaber that you dont have to update. You can just install your version of choice and never have to worry about updates again.
