I have always used the Save Editor made by FromDarkHell who is a known programmer and moder and never had a problem. https://github.com/FromDarkHell/BL3SaveEditor

There is a borderlands 3 editor for pc. In there you can edit your game file. You also can unlock the classmods in there. https://github.com/FromDarkHell/BL3SaveEditor

BL2 - Gibbed BL2

It's a program that let's you edit a save file so you can basically do whatever you want like Make a max level VH, Give yourself any weapon, Reset missions, Unlock Fast travel, etc Here's the download link: https://github.com/gibbed/Gibbed.Borderlands2/releases

To test it I had to create a new character and progress the story until I got to Sanctuary and since I'm not a speedrunner, that took about an hour. There is a savegame editor for Borderlands 2 (https://github.com/gibbed/Gibbed.Borderlands2), but I couldn't find out how exactly I can adjust my story progress, so I just played through the first few missions.
