Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Ask HN: How to Get Back into Programming?
Gotta pick some project that matters to you and do it. Putting Python code into production with multi-person teams is outright maddening, but for the individual who wants to put their skills on wheels, Python is a great place to start.
Another fun thing to try is
https://www.arduino.cc/
I got started with that buying an Arduino and a breadboard and a handful of 74xx logic chips and I started writing Arduino programs that would generate inputs to the 74xx chips and verify the expected outputs and thus taught myself C coding for the Arduino and how to make circuits with discrete logic at the same time.

Need Code for Compiling Arduino Sketch to Hex
You'll also need the avr C library and the Arduino library, and possibly a Makefile or similar to corral the compilation process

Is this arduino good or not?
Ya for $25 you either want 4-5 clones, or support the official Italian Arduino makers as thanks for making the entire ecosystem possible by buying one of their own boards from https://www.arduino.cc/

Suggestions for my 10 yo daughter?
It depends what exactly is she into. For electronics you can check out arduino. They sell full kits with everything you need - some components like leds, breadboard so you can create circuits without soldering and a small 8bit computer to control everything with. AFAIK they also sell kits specifically for education starting with middle school.

A tiny city with old town plaza in the north?
They are in via Arduino. ;-)

Super basic question about selecting pins.
Last time I checked, the Servo library doesn't even use PWM properly (just timer-triggered digitalWrite), so you should be able to use basically any digital pin that isn't being used for something else.

I created a simple library to controll the speed of servos, what do you guys think?
Your class extends Servo. That means that it is dependent on another library (assumably Servo) and will not build without it. You need to mention this if you provide a lib, or your users' code will not compile if they don't have the dependency.
- I have twitching even after a large dead-band on some of the servos.

Having trouble making a Tachometer
i posted anyway as I was going to suggest that rather than hardcoding a 0 in your attachInterrupt call, you might be better off using the digitalPinToInterrupt(dioPinNum) function. This is described in the attachInterrupt docs at arduino.cc: https://www.arduino.cc/reference/en/language/functions/external-interrupts/attachinterrupt/

tft_espi library is awesome, DME 320x240 ILI9341 full screen draw at 64fps with ESP32!
A quick question: Is there an API reference for the library? I see the arduino.cc page, then the github page, then a lot of coding examples and source code. But no clear description of the library (summary of functionality, breakdown of routines by function and/or alphabetical reference, all with params etc.).

How do I get this screen to work?
There is also a display forum at arduino.cc

I created an app in PYTHON.
Just a little suggestion (feel free to ignore and continue exploring whatever you enjoy the most—no pressure), since you probably a long time before you specialize in a course/career: take a look at other things too? Maybe you might enjoy the world of micro-controllers (Arduino, based on C++) is a good one to start with.

Opinions and suggestions?
By IDE I'm assuming you're talking about Arduino IDE. The one on arduino.cc. The latest version I'm pretty sure. The board I'm using will vary. For the ultrasonic sensor bands, I think an Arduino mini. For the cap, an Uno r3. Haven't thought much about the LCD screen yet.

arduino schematics, are there any sch or alike files freely available? not jpegs.
You mean like the Eagle files or Schematics available on arduino.cc?
