In my probably-not-so-informed knowledge, the big difference here is display servers. Android doesn't actually use X or Wayland like desktop Linux does, so you can't run desktop Linux apps on a phone without an app like Xserver XSDL. If the pull command is crashing and you have Android version >12, then likely you dealing with "phantom process killer" known issue.
