351elec is now amberelec, and yes, it can run ports. Actually, I think it's better than ArkOS now, much more intuitive, so I recommend you that one.

I was in your place few months ago and I installed Amberelec. It's much better now, in my opinion.

The Retrorun and Retroarch Yabasanshiro cores were removed on Mar 12, 2022 because performance with them is much worse than Yabasanshiro Stand Alone.

So, what have you tried for the cheats? Did you make sure the core you're using is compatible with RetroArch's cheats (you can find this information on the cores' pages at docs.libretro.com)?

A log would tell us more, but did you do any of the required setup for those cores? They need BIOS images to function. See the cores' pages on docs.libretro.com for more details.
