AdventOfCode2020 VS adventofcode

AoC 2020 was like that too.

As a reminder, https://adventofcode.com/2020 started jumping at day 8

I learned Zig first from the official guide at https://ziglang.org/learn/getting-started/, then from https://ziglearn.org/. I also used Zig to go through https://adventofcode.com/2020, which more about solving given tasks. At certain point you will be ready to read source code of Zig's std library in place for documentation.

Go through the AdventOfCode in C# - it will show you what you are missing when it comes to data types and algorithms.

Phew, almost 2 hours of intense coding. This was an incredibly difficult day. Got flashbacks to day 20 of last year.

This is the seventh year puzzles, if you want to check out previous years take a look at: 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020

My A* in Rust only stores (position, time) as state, as you can deduce where the blizzards are after N minutes: code. This is quite expensive, though, as you need to run it for each node expansion (unless you do caching).

Python, 407/8. Part 1, Part 2, Part 2 cleaned up. How did y'all do part 1 so quick?

Python, 6/3. Part 1, Part 2. The main "tricks" I used were:

Python, didn't leaderboard. Cleaned up code for part 1 and part 2.

Python, 8/28. Part 1, Part 2. My part 2 turned the input into "a Counter of adjacent pairs of characters", which you need to be careful about because turning that to "a Counter of characters" is not easy - you double-count all characters except for the first and last which cost me an incorrect submission!
