The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Hey! Is there a simple to use optical mouse sensor for ESP32 ???
Which library are you using? https://github.com/okhiroyuki/ADNS5050?

hey! I wanna connect an Optical Sensor with Arduino. I hooked it up like it shows in the data sheet and I am using a library from github. But I only get weird readings, could someone tell me what I am doing wrong? links below!!!

hey beautiful people! I am in need of some help. Could someone tell me how to connect an optical sensor (ADNS-5050) to an arduino. bear in mind i just started to work with arduino and electronics in general.
Looks like this project hasn't been updated in a while. But you can try this for a library to use. https://github.com/okhiroyuki/ADNS5050

Electronics for a computer mouse. Sensor is a discount ADNS-5050. Running on an ATmega32u4 (Leonardo). Details in comments.
Currently, it has a polling rate of 1,660Hz. This isn't really indicative of the final performance as its very barebones. Most of the firmware is from this Github repo.

Try pulling up the Reset pin. Also datasheet shows that SDIO is connected to 2 pins on the MCU. For some additional source code you might want to check Ploopyco Nano Trackball.

How to Scroll With the Trackball Nano
I just submitted firmware changes to my fork of qmk_firmware which adds a new ploopy/trackball_nano keymap named scroll.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing ADNS5050 and qmk_firmware you can also consider the following projects:
nano-trackball - A very small trackball-only mouse. Mechanical files, PCBs, and firmware all included.
qmk-firmware-ploopyco-dev - Open-source keyboard firmware for Atmel AVR and Arm USB families
aball - A Ball - Buttonless trackball for all
trackball - Code for a trackball I'm building from scratch
