Are there general rules/suggested order for mod installation order?
Re: recs, I'm gonna be lazy and link this thread I made - the stuff that adds banters/friendships is near the top, and item mods are a bit further down, though you've got most of the ones I'd recommend. And Skip Chateau Irenicus is the DBG-equivalent I use.

Adventures in modding gone wrong
As for the install order itself - are you running BG2 original flavor, or EE? Because I would recommend using this version of dungeon be gone instead (though I think it's actually compatible with the original game anyway).

Mod overview: Tweaks, convenience mods, quality of life, and other minor enhancements
Skip Chateau Irenicus: EE equivalent of the old Dungeon-Be-Gone mod. Optionally teleports all recruitable characters to the surface, and is compatible with mod NPCs.

Mod installation problem
And yep, there's a mod for that: Skip Chateau Irenicus

Can anyone help me understand modmerge? (Mac)
hey, do you still want dungeon be gone? I don't think it was ever updated for EE, but there's a modern skip Chateau Irenicus with a mac version

Is there a BG2EE mod that completely removes Energy/Level Drain from the game?
Subtledoctor's Random Tweaks - https://github.com/subtledoctor/d5_Random_Tweaks - includes a tweak to update all level drain effects with a saving throw. That's everything AFAIK.

Looking for Mod Recommendations for BG2EE, mainly TOB section
I was referring to Scales of Balance and random tweaks, if you're not familiar. SoB, I haven't used in awhile; random tweaks includes some nice quality of life stuff I like (goodberries, cure spells bypass deflection, etc).

Baldur's Gate vs Icewind Dale
I'm pretty sure I said that it didn't change spells that were already in BG. But the tweak to sleep that I use is this one. I don't install every single tweak, but some of them I quite like.

Mod overview: Tweaks, convenience mods, quality of life, and other minor enhancements
subtledoctor’s random tweaks: a wide-ranging collection of tweaks that will generally make your life easier. “Cure Spells Bypass Deflection,” “Tweak Protection from Petrification,” and “Party-friendly Smashing Wave” are particularly handy. Optional changes to False Dawn, Sunray, and Hold/Control Undead allow these spells to bypass Magic Resistance, and the addition of a saving throw vs level drain makes it marginally less annoying. Some of these changes improve spells or items, others nerf them (eg, changing Web’s effect on failed save from Hold to Slow + 0 APR). All components are optional, so look over the readme first. Contains several components designed to affect Spell Revisions or Item Revisions, so install after those (if you use them).

WheelsOfProphecy - Wheels of Prophecy is a mod for Baldur's Gate II original or the Enhanced Edition. Wheels of Prophecy is a smallish mod that tries to add a bit more nonlinearity and roleplaying opportunity to the Throne of Bhaal expansion, mostly but not entirely centered around chapter nine. In summary, Wheels of Prophecy doesn't change the events of Throne of Bhaal (not much, anyway), but it does let the player interact with them in a much more flexible way.
