A Big Fan of the Enhanced Editions, but...

Why did they make Neera so painstakingly annoying?
The Convenient EE NPCs mod lets you choose which ones to disable on a case by case basis - or to shut them up so they can't initiate dialogue with you.

Mod overview: Tweaks, convenience mods, quality of life, and other minor enhancements
Convenient EE NPCs: allows you to remove or render passive the EE NPCs (preventing them from initiating dialogue), or to change their classes or portraits. If you choose to disable all of them, you can also choose to add NPC items to stores if you don’t want to miss out on gear.

Do you have a game you are cursed to always come back to?
Worth noting that if you don't like the EE companions, it's trivially easy to mod them out. I spent enough time with them to confirm that they weren't for me, so now I get the advantages of the EEs without the downsides.

Trying to find what bugged my BG1:EE run (Chapter 4 wouldn't trigger)
My game is v2.6.6.0 from GOG with the following mods: - Convenient Enhanced Edition NPCs (A7-ConvenientEENPCs) - The Tweaks Anthology (cdtweaks) - https://github.com/r-e-d/LeUI-SoD[(LeUI-SoD)](https://github.com/r-e-d/LeUI-SoD) - Rogue Rebalancing (rr)

Playing Baldur’s Gate for the first time!
I HIGHLY recommend installing this mod and removing all of the EE NPCs, at least for your first plathrough.
What are some alternatives?
SwordCoastStratagems - Sword Coast Stratagems (SCS) adds over 130 optional components to Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, Baldur's Gate Trilogy, mostly focused around improving monster AI and encounter difficulties, but also including cosmetic and ease-of-use components, tweaks to abilities or spells.
HQ-SoundClips-BG2EE - Restores high quality sound files for extended BG2EE content which were lost since game patch v1.3.
Enhanced-Powergaming-Scripts - This mod is a collection of player AI scripts designed for use in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, the Enhanced Edition Trilogy, and Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition. With these scripts, you can focus on the fighting aspect of combat while these take care of the nuances in the background. Of note, these scripts allow easy pre-buffing of all characters with a keystroke, intelligent debuffing of enemy protections, and smart use of defensive spells and abilities.
RandomGraionTweaks - Various tweaks presented by Graion Dilach for games on the Infinity Engine.
A7-ImprovedShamanicDance - A mod for BG:EE, BG2:EE and EET to make the Shaman class more useful.
aTweaks - PnP tweakpack for BG and BG2
EET_Tweaks - A mod for Infinity Engine games
A7-HiddenGameplayOptions - A mod that makes a number of useful options directly accessible within Enhanced Edition games.
Scales_of_Balance - a tweak mod and kit pack for BG2/TOB, BGEE, BG2EE, and IWDEE
Tweaks-Anthology - The Tweaks Anthology is a WeiDU compilation of nearly 200 components of cosmetic changes, house rules, and other tweaks. Some of these were fan requests, others are needed changes, and others simply make dealing with the more irritating aspects of the game engine easier. Each component can be installed separately so the player can pick and choose only which ones they wish to install.
