How to connect an xbox 360 controller to my macbook air
I have an xbox 360 controller and a macbook air (Monterey 12.5). I installed the drivers (https://github.com/360Controller/360Controller/releases) and am using a USB to connect to my laptop via a USB->lightning adapter. I also tried to pair via bluetooth but my computer could not find the controller. In the advanced settings in the drivers page the "enable driver" check keeps unchecking itself.

I found this. https://github.com/360Controller/360Controller it does support original Xbox controllers. But they have stopped development.

Another question
My main experience has been with Xbox controllers which do not work natively with MacOS. Source:https://github.com/360Controller/360ControllerThis utility is the 3rd party utility I had to use to get Xbox Controller support working. If MacOS supported controllers natively, this utility would have no reason to exist.
