Best way to get more professional with QGIS?
Although it will take some time before it takes place again, i would advice to participate in the 30 day map challenge. Try to make something that you think is cool and is just outside your knowledge zone.

Coursera GIS certificate
My suggestion? Build yourself a portfolio highlighting projects that are representative of your work and aspirations. Look to the 30DayMapChallenge to get some ideas if you need some prompts. When I’ve hired, I’ve always been more interested in what an applicant can show they’ve done (even if it’s not much!) rather than their collection of certificates. Showing my work has been critical to getting an interview if not an offer throughout my career.

My first #30DayMapChallenge
2022 year is the first time I tried #30DayMapChallenge, a daily map making challenge which is held on Social Network every year in november. I get known about it after the end of 2021 challenge and as a map lover, I did my best to not miss 2022 one.

A population density map of Wisconsin
This was one of my submissions to the 30DayMapChallenge, see my original submission tweet here.

I have nothing to do at work
this is not a long term solution, but there is a "30 day map challenge" happening on twitter right now for the month of november (https://github.com/tjukanovt/30DayMapChallenge)
- Today is OpenStreetMap motto at the #30DayMapChallenge.
- I need ideas on projects I could practice on ArcMap

#30DayMapChallenge 2022 Inspiration
Finnish geographer and mapping enthusiast Topi Tjukanov started the #30DayMapChallenge in November 2019, and has since continued it every November. This challenge is open to anyone and everyone in the online geospatial community, encouraging participants to post one map that they’ve created per day on a different theme or topic on social media.

Graphic design resource for cartography?
Check out the 30daymapchallenge.com for inspiration. There's some technical maps, but there are a lot of fun, pretty ones that could help get your creative juices running. Plus, a lot of the links of the people on there posted tutorials of how they made them which could help. Then in November, try participating to gain practice in your free time!
