They use (uWebSockets)[https://github.com/uNetworking/uWebSockets], which was written in C++, but has an interface to use in NodeJS. It's been really performant for me in my simple tests compared to other popular websocket libs that slow down fairly quickly.
Project mention: What you guys are hosting instead of Nextcloud? I'm sick of it. | /r/selfhosted | 2023-11-29EDIT: Thanks for the recommendations from all of you!! I've chose to use the below: - Files: sftpgo - Calendar: baikal - Notes: memos (But beware, it sends opt-out telemetry) - Network folder: webdav on sftpgo
If you have never heard of Soketi, to give you a brief overview, it is a WebSocket server that was built on top of uWebSockets.js and has great compatibility with Pusher Protocol.
Project mention: HAProxy is not affected by the HTTP/2 Rapid Reset Attack (CVE-2023-44487) | news.ycombinator.com | 2023-10-11I wanted to try it out just now but hit a roadblock immediately - it cannot automatically obtain and maintain TLS certificates. You have to use an external client (e.g. acme.sh), set up a cron to check/renew them, and poke HAProxy to reload them if necessary. I'm way past doing this in 2023.
