There are plugins that fix the issue but they're obviously not officially endorsed.

If you are a bit overwhelmed, which has also happened to me at times, step back a little and focus on MSQ, questlines that you might have not done yet (strongly recommend https://xivtodo.com/), levelling up your crafts/alts/sides, glamour, or having some fun at the Gold Saucer. It's okay to not be okay.
