Project mention: Is there a way to know which encoding is used for a cookie value | /r/webdev | 2023-12-11I am solving Advent of code(https://adventofcode.com/2023) and I just solved the first part of Day 7 which unlocked the Part two of the problem. I can see from the cookie storage that there is a key with the name of "session" and has value such as: 53616c7465645f5fd4312107fe4a1c087f59f746f5e4dd570b48e8481a4b60629eeebcabd421597d2835e0498e87df95d66843256a535a7040a3c73993e5bb36

I am not a strong mathematician so I solved part 2 by coming at the range where records happen from both ends of the time range and subtracting. Then I refactored part 1 to do the same. My code can be found on GitHub, I've written this up on my blog, and here are my 2023 Solutions so far.
Project mention: [2023 Day 10 (Part 2)] [C#] Visualisation in Console using ASCII | /r/adventofcode | 2023-12-11Nice, I also applied it in my visualization: https://github.com/tbeu/AdventOfCode/commit/f220d033d99fe5f9a4eb843ec7d77a896aa13d33 Thanks!
Solution on GitHub: https://github.com/goggle/AdventOfCode2023.jl/blob/master/src/day05.jl
This was a tricky one, but I managed to solve it in an effective way (the lcm method). As always you can see it on my GitHub.

Project mention: [2023 Day 5 (Part 2)] [Java] works on example input but not real input | /r/adventofcode | 2023-12-06Available here
My solution works by slicing the maps until each range of seed IDs matches to exactly one range of location IDs. Then, I only need to check one value from each range which is a lot faster. This currently completes in about 25 ms, although there's plenty of room for improvement.
