QMK controllers for Model M
I made this one https://github.com/sje-mse/yacobo And it's working for me so far :P I need my design on the modelh but prioritized being able to use all through -hole components to make kitting easier.

QMK on the Model M
I have a version for the classic M that you can solder yourself, which I can ship either pre-soldered or kitted out in the us for pretty cheap: https://github.com/sje-mse/yacobo

Identifying Model M Issues
Definitely looks like a frankenboard. I'm not sure if they even took it apart - if they screwed right through the original rivets like it looks like they did, it seems like they just did a quick screw mod to say that they did. Also the sloppy cut on the row + led ribbon indicates they didn't have a lot of room to maneuver - I know because I've tried this before :P It could indeed be the control board. I have a kit for a replacement board with plenty already assembled if you'd like one. https://github.com/sje-mse/yacobo

Yet Another Control Board (YaCoBo)
Thanks! Here's the repo for the board - I haven't yet added the code because I want to get a good README up, but the hardware is at least committed: https://github.com/sje-mse/yacobo
