Missing logs for 1 hour
The bigger issue you'll face is there's not much interesting in the syslog stream (or even logged into the Unifi OS controller directly poking around /var/log). The syslog stream primarily contains firewall and auth activity (even with debug-level logging turned on). The majority of data worth tracking (like access points or client devices, leaving & joining) is stored in a MongoDB instance embedded in Unifi OS itself. To access that, there are APIs that have been reverse-engineered. But even better there's a project called Unpoller that has higher-level APIs available, and a plugin architecture to create an Elastic-specific output plugin.
