What's the best Gravit alternative?
For something more lightweight and runs in a web browser, maybe give SVG-edit a try, they have a working demo that runs in your browser here.

Is it possible to import HTML code via import commands in a JS file?
I am using a Flask server and as far as I understand all I need to do is to clone the repo in a folder that is seen by Flask and access the index.html file https://github.com/SVG-Edit/svgedit/blob/master/src/editor/index.html So if I clone that in /static/svgedit then my call would be http://127.0.0.1:5000/static/src/editor/index.html This call works I am seeing all the other JS modules loaded (triggered by editor.js) but these HTML imports are giving an error see here https://stackoverflow.com/questions/71973630/how-do-i-run-svg-editor-without-using-node-js

Free SVG-Editor That Is Not Figma?
Hi, what's your favourite 'cheap' SVG editor out there? I tried a few, but none of them met my expectations, which I think are really not all that high. Basically I want a customizable grid with grid snapping for mouse and arrow keys. Also I want to move a selection of vertices with the arrow keys, which for some reason didn't seem to work in SVG-Edit. Adobe Illustrator is fine, but I don't want to pay that much and also use Linux most of the time. Affinity Designer should also be alright, but I really don't need a fully fledged illustration package, just a nice workflow for editing simple shapes.
