  • Opinion on my first script/program
    1 project | /r/suckless | 18 May 2023
Hi, I've made my first script and I made it so it interacts with dmenu, I wanted to know your opinion if there's anything overcomplicated or something that could be made simpler, ty in advance. https://github.com/Vdevelasco/quickCommand Basically it's a stack to store commands, the stacks can be saved in a predefined a directory. Interacting with dmenu and a zsh widget basically you can store commands from history and execute them pretty quickly, also you can load a previously saved stack. It's inteded usage is mainly for debuging or repetitive processes that aren't worth writting a script for (fun fact, the stored stacks can be used as scripts too). Basically using all the tools provided there you can execute common commands with keybindings, maybe making it directory aware could make it a bit bloated but idk, what do you think?

Hi, I've already checked the style with shellcheck and everything seems fine, however I would like to know the opinion of someone who knows a little bit more about bash than me, it's my first script afterall and it's probably a mess. Ty in advance. Here's the github page with a readme if something isn't clear https://github.com/Vdevelasco/quickCommand ty in advance
  • My first bash script, probably a disaster but apparently usable

Hello, it's been a while, I've written an improved version if you'd like to take a look, I didn't have time to add pipefail and errtrace but I think that now it's a lot better, it's still a work in progress as I'm still learning bash but, yeah, I think it's getting better: https://github.com/Vdevelasco/quickCommand
