Barcode Scanner in Django. want guidance from django devs.
Any sort of barcode scanning on a webpage is probably going to involve javascript doing the actual work, and using that to send the barcode data to django where it can store it. I haven't used this before, but, a library like this I think is going to help a bunch: https://serratus.github.io/quaggaJS/. With that, you should be able to get the barcode data, and then make a call to django with the info where it can store it.

Ask HN: How do I easily catalog a couple thousand physical books?
you can write something with https://serratus.github.io/quaggaJS/ I used it in the past, with few tweaks it is very accurate.
and then you can query goodreads or amazon to find the actual book
