I'm trying to use the commands from p5 sound librarie in vscode, but I can't get it to work.
wow I'm sorry.. :/ Definitely not something obvious.. There is 1 bug where the preload function turns loadSound to undefined.. https://github.com/processing/p5.js-sound/issues/75 You can try to remove the preload function and then check again in console if it exists... Or check other functions from the sound lib.

currentTime() always returns 0
Hmm, if you look at the implementation of currentTime you can see that it works by comparing the _lastPos with the sampleRate on the audio context (unless you've reversed the buffer). I have seen cases where, with some audio files, those values don't get set correctly. I'd double check that on load, it actually gets the duration set correctly, because that may be a hint that on some level it doesn't like your audio file.

Producing a Music Video in the Browser
The P5.sound module makes it super easy to have the variables within your sketch change based on the volume and frequency of a sound. Out of the box you can use Amplitude and FFT to do some pretty amazing things. The Coding Train has a whole series of videos on sound within P5 that I encourage you to watch.
