  I just have a repo on GitHub for dotfiles and miscellaneous utilities. Just have to git clone initially, and if I change something then I can just push the changes from one machine and pull everywhere else.

  I think you might be interested in this script I made for managing snapshots. I run it as a cron job to take weekly snapshots. Well the previous version of it because I'm working on getting the repo packaged nicely into an ebuild for better system management.

  I use btrfs. I've got this script running as a cron job every 3 hours which will automatically take a snapshot every week at 00:30 on Sunday, play catch up if my machine isn't on during the normal snapshot time, and delete older snapshots from my main drive.
