That is why I coded https://github.com/JoseConseco/hl_manager.nvim - it lets me to match any plugin 'ugly' highlight to existing theme highlight (with optional brightness adjustment). With this for example - I get indentline color that is always auto adjusted to current theme (light or dark) - color is updated on themechange auto command.
