Hedy: Textual Programming Made Easy
Yeah, I have been playing with composable grammars, so you could only include parts of the language that you want for that specific case.
Your take might be different, you probably have something to add to the https://www.hedy.org/ project.
We really gotta get all the good ideas in our head out into the world. What other ideas do you have?

Thonny – Python IDE for new to programming
May I also suggest Hedy. Starts of as a different language but through exercises you end up programming Python!
Completely in the browser.

How Are Kids Learning To Program These Days?
There is Hedy, which is aimed at both teaching kids how to program, and also making the gap between the kids who "get it" and the kids who don't smaller (compared to scratch where you could have one kid barely know how to move the cat in a circle, and another kid practically having made a small minigame because they were quicker to pick up the language)
