Yes, it does. You can see it in action in the repo itself: https://github.com/AlCalzone/esm2cjs/tree/master/build. The only difference is that the .d.ts files are only in the esm directory. Also, both subdirectories contain a package.json defining the module type (but you can turn that off if necessary).
