    I am currently teaching a course where we use keras in R. I can really recommend the book Deep Learning with R. It's very well written and covers the functionality of keras in R. No doubt a huge amount of work has gone into developing the R frontend to Keras. Since it's pretty new, I was pleasantly surprised to find many good online tutorials and Q&As. For instance, this awesome workshop by Brad Boehmke.
