I went back to using a ThinkPad from 2012
> At work for new devs we bought ThinkPads with Ryzen. These are in general fine, except that multiple people have this weird issue with the computer completely freezing at random times on Linux. The one person who had Windows didn't have this issue. If it weren't for this issue that would be our default buy for new hires. Now, I don't know really.
Likely an issue with the C6 power state. Try searching for "ryzen linux c6 state" and you'll find plenty of people with these issues. Try updating BIOS, disabling C6 in BIOS or with https://github.com/jfredrickson/disable-c6.

Switching from arch(artix) to void, my experience so far
Maybe try Disabling C6? Here is systemd service for this. It just runs Python script, so it shouldn't be hard to convert it to runit service.

Ubuntu works great, wine works great, steam works great. But on occasion (maybe once a day) my entire system randomly freezes and I have to reset. That really makes it unusable for me. Windows stopped doing that 10 years ago.

Tumbleweed - having constant lockups on my Ryzen CPU, this time after a reboot some Plasma settings are reset to defaults.
Hi, to prevent this issue what I did was disabling c6 just like /u/greenhaveproblemexe suggested. I installed the package from the home repo available at OBS which has a build for Tumbleweed.

Do you use Ryzen CPU? If yes, you have to use https://github.com/jfredrickson/disable-c6 no matter on what distro you are.

Random reboots
I went ahead and setup the service to disable C6 in case that is the issue.

Random freezes on Kubuntu
Disable C6 sleep. This will also prevent single-core boosting (which I found to be an acceptable trade-off).
