    In general, this is a very interesting utility; but I do see hints of inexperience with shell scripting -- which is totally okay. I can't help myself when I see stuff like this; especially since I had to piece together my scripting style over the last several years at work... I plan to, in some capacity, rewrite the script using my current style, which I might submit as a PR if wanted. My rewrite is untested, so I'll need to actually run and debug the thing; but still.
