System requirements to manage octoprint with multiple printers
Looking to scale up a small print farm for a home business and with the RPi shortages I'm trying to research the options to use a single PC to manage multiple printers. I'm thinking of starting with 2-3 printers at first with the possibility of scaling up to 6-8. I love octopi running on an RPi 3 for my hobby printer so OctoFarm (https://octofarm.net/) is super appealing for the familiarity. What I'm trying to understand though is what kind of PC specs would be best for a system to scale up to controlling up to 6-8 printers. If an RPi 4 can manage at least a few printers then I would imagine it wouldn't take much for system specs on an x86 machine to handle 6-8 printers. Looking to keep costs low since an RPi for each printer would be pretty cheap if they were available. My initial thought is a low end AMD Ryzen 3 with 8gb of RAM on a Linux box that I could set up to run headless.
