Searching for even lower redirects
For example, Hands Down Vibranium (Neu-vb), is below 1% SFBs, only 2.1% total redirects (greater % of them are "bad" though), and fractionally higher rolling/alternating numbers, but with a near 3:1 in:out rolling ratio. (then there's Mithril. It's higher redirects (3.2%), but maintains a really high rolling and high in:out ratio, while still limiting inner column and scissoring, and only .5% SFBs? True that some of this could be false SFB accounting, as off-main-map alphas aren't always counted properly.)

Introducing the Wedlock Layout
I'm on a ferris/equiv most of the time. I do have a thumb alpha (Hands Down Vibranium), and find it really great. But I totally understand the thumb thing....it's not for everyone.

People who retain their typing their QWERTY typing ability, do you eventually reach about the same max speed?
Ya, sort of, but not exhaustive and not independent of Hands Down documentation on the site. It’s a lot do describe to newbies, I’ve found, so I’m waiting till I can catch a break from studies/work to write it up properly. There is a blurb on the Hands Down landing page for them (section link here), and some mention of how they might work individually for many of the variations (they generally work intimately with the geometry of the layout, so must be adapted to each). My code is HERE, for the truly brave, but it assumes you already know what it’s about, and just want to see how I implemented it (and why I didn’t use the QMK code for the feature…).

Those of you who switch between macOS and Linux or Windows - what do you do about typical keyboard shortcuts?
I have a boolean in my QMK keymap that tracks which OS I am using, and a specific key that toggles that boolean. (This is just set up for Mac and Windows, but BabblePaste and semantic keys both use a similar approach for multiple OSs.)

I want to collaborate with you guys to make a new keyboard layout that is for programming
Number rows are prime candidates for optimization, too. Many layouts invert the numbers and symbols, a strategy that is particularly valuable if the form-factor you’re designing for has a 10 key. But even the symbol row itself is pretty stupid as-is on ANSI/ISO/JIS. My own symbol layers(here) are organized with the same sort of logic and stats I used for the other Hands Down alpha layers. You can do this with numbers too, noting that 0,1,5,9 are a lot more frequent than most of the other numbers, so putting them in 123 sequence is about as smart as lining up alphas in ABC order. All Hands Down Neu variations considered alphas and symbols this way. Hands Down Neu # inverts the optimized number and symbol rows, assuming they’d be deployed on a traditional row stagger board (There’s an installer for that on mac), and I think it’s rather useful.

Favorite Key Combos?
Here's a link to my combo defs on github. They are defined for Hands Down...

I before E…and before C.
If you're on an EZ, I suspect that the Oryx configurator will allow you to easily set up the layout proper. For letters not on the main map, you can always use layers without much difficulty. If you want to do all the trimmings, with combos, adaptive keys, semantic keys, and the linger key behaviors, you'll need something like a full QMK/ZMK dev environment. Both QMK and ZMK now have solid combo handlers, and I've posted some of my QMK code on github, here. that will always be a bit out of date, and there are usually a few quirks, as I'm endlessly tinkering. Timing on some of the linger/adaptive features is a bit tricky, but my home row mods setting are rather stable now.
